Alum and former MechSE faculty member, Ken Christensen (PhD TAM 2001) will soon take the reins as chancellor of the University of Colorado Denver.

An alumnus of the Theoretical and Applied Mechanics program, Kenneth T. Christensen (PhD TAM 2001), was selected as the next chancellor of the University of Colorado Denver. Christensen was also on the faculty in the MechSE department from 2004 to 2014, having served as Associate Head for Undergraduate Programs for MechSE during his last two years. Most recently, he served as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs & Chief Academic Officer at Illinois Institute of Technology, in Chicago. In 2022, he was a recipient of MechSE's Alumni Award for Distinguished Service.
