Alumni Awards
MechSE Distinguished Alumni Award
The MechSE Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes our alumni who have established careers and have served in a professional and technical capacity to honor the department and the university. To date, 192 of our deserving alumni have received this award. Any individual with a degree in Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, or Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois, who is not a current MechSE faculty member or alumni board member, is eligible for nomination.
MechSE Outstanding Young Alumni Award
The MechSE Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognizes alumni who have graduated from the department fewer than 10 years ago and who have embodied the department and university’s values in their professional careers.
The Grainger College of Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award
The Grainger College of Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award is conferred upon exceptional alumni each year. Recipients are recognized for professional distinction through outstanding leadership, contributions to the field of engineering, creativity, and entrepreneurship; as well as service to society, the professional community, and to the department, college, or university.
The Grainger College of Engineering Hall of Fame
This college-level award recognizes engineering alumni, and others affiliated with Grainger Engineering, who have significant achievements in leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation of great impact to society. Each year the college honors their remarkable accomplishments by inducting a class of honorees into the Grainger Engineering Hall of Fame.
