Virtual Visits
Congratulations on your admission to MechSE at the University of Illinois! As a newly admitted student, you're invited to attend an exclusive webinar where we will discuss our Engineering Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering curricula and extracurricular opportunities. We will have a student panel Q&A for the last 20-30 minutes of the session, so come prepared with questions about student life, campus, and our programs!
Thursdays: February 27, March 13, April 10, or April 24
Each webinar is 6:30-7:30 pm CT.
Student Introduction to Engineering (SITE)
SITE is a 2½-day event for admitted students, offering an exciting introduction to the Engineering program at Illinois. Attendees will engage in hands-on design competitions, explore campus and dorm life through guided tours, and participate in a student panel to hear firsthand experiences. The event also features an opening speaker, interactive activities, a banquet with a keynote speaker, and a personalized evening experience hosted by a current engineering student. It's an excellent opportunity to envision your future in engineering and connect with the community!

National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Admitted Student High School Visitation

Join the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) for an immersive weekend stay on campus, where you can explore The Grainger College of Engineering, connect with current NSBE students, and meet other admits equally passionate about making a difference.
All travel to and from the Chicago metro area, hotel accommodations, meals, and activities are fully provided. Come see how NSBE at Illinois can be the first step in your engineering journey.

Time will be allotted on April 12th for you to participate in the Admitted Student IlliniFest programming within your itinerary for the weekend. You WILL need to register for IlliniFest events separately.
Society of Women Engineers (SWE) "Little Sisters Weekend"
Friday-Saturday (overnight)

Join the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) for an exciting, immersive weekend at UIUC! You'll be responsible for arranging your own transportation to and from campus, but once here, we’ll provide transportation between the hotel and campus for event activities. You'll stay in a hotel overnight on or near campus with other admitted students, and you will be paired with a "Big Sister" who shares similar interests or a major. Together, you'll attend engineering classes, go on guided campus tours, meet current students, connect with fellow admitted women in engineering, and experience life at the University of Illinois! You’ll also learn about the resources available through SWE and the Grainger College of Engineering. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to get an insider’s view of what it’s like to be part of our dynamic and supportive engineering community!

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Admitted Student High School Visitation

Join the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) for an immersive experience, that will allow you to explore the wide variety of engineering disciplines, engage in hands-on demonstrations, tour campus facilities, and connect with current SHPE members.
All travel to and from the Chicago metro area, hotel accommodations, meals, and activities are fully provided. Come see how SHPE at Illinois can be the first step in your engineering journey.

Admitted IlliniFest

Register for our Campus-Wide Open House for Admitted Students where you can register for college-specific sessions, meet with the Office of Student Financial Aid, take housing tours and learn about your options to fulfill the campus live-on requirement, and learn about many more helpful student resources.
Note that you can register for this event in addition to the NSBE or SHPE HSV Days.
MechSE Prospective Student Webinars
The MechSE Department virtual webinar will discuss our Engineering Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering curriculum and co-/extracurricular opportunities for undergraduate students. The last 20-30 minutes of the webinar will feature a student Q&A panel.

Are you passionate about Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics and eager to dive deeper? Check out our Exploring Mechanical Science & Engineering residential, one-week camp, where you’ll stay in the dorms and gain hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of these fields.
Not sure about MechSE majors? The Exploring Your Options residential, one-week camp offers the perfect opportunity to explore our campus and a variety of engineering disciplines, including MechSE programs, before applying.
