Computational Fluid Dynamics Lab
The focus of this laboratory is computational fluid dynamics (CFD). We are involved in both development, and application of algorithms for fluid flow and heat transfer. We are interested in Large Eddy and Direct Numerical simulations (DNS) of turbulent flows. Current applications include: LES of continuous casting of steel, LES/DNS of gas particle flows, LES of flow in a solid rocket motor, three-dimensional vortex shedding, and general CFD algorithm development. Almost all our computer programs use the high performance parallel computers at the DOD and NCSA facilities.
