MechSE alumnus Eric N. Brown (BSME ’98, MSTAM ’01, PhDTAM ‘03) won the 2017 A.J. Durelli Award from the Society for Experimental Mechanics (SEM).
He was also inducted as a Fellow of SEM.
The Durelli Award is bestowed to individuals who have introduced an innovative approach or method early in their careers.
Brown is the division leader for Explosive Science and Shock Physics at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He also is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Dynamic Behavior of Materials.
Brown is an active member on MechSE’s alumni board and has served as vice president and president in recent years.
