For each of the last five years, MechSE master's and doctoral programs in mechanical engineering have ranked among the nation's top five.
U.S. News ranks ME Graduate Programs No. 5
In the new 2023-24 graduate school rankings from U.S. News and World Report, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign ranks No. 5 in mechanical engineering. For each of the last five years, MechSE’s master’s and doctoral programs in mechanical engineering have ranked among the nation’s top five.
Eight of The Grainger College of Engineering’s graduate programs – including mechanical engineering – currently rank in the top five. Earlier this year and in late 2022, U.S. News ranked Illinois No. 3 for mechanical engineering online graduate education and No. 7 in undergraduate programs in mechanical engineering.
