#4 Best Online Master's Program in Mechanical EngineeringU.S. News and World Report has ranked MechSE’s online mechanical engineering master’s degree program #4 in the nation.

The new 2024 ranking places MechSE among other top programs at Purdue University, Georgia Tech and the University of Michigan, ranked #1 through #3, respectively.

MechSE proudly offers the professionally oriented Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (M.Eng.ME), a degree that can be earned online or on campus. The online degree requirements are the same as those for on-campus students, and the diplomas and degrees are identical. Students gain advanced knowledge and experiential opportunities beyond that of a bachelor’s degree.

“As faculty director of MechSE’s M.Eng.ME, I am proud to work with our staff and students of such a high caliber academically and professionally. During its early formative years, under the direction of former Faculty Director, Professor Jiajun He, and Program Coordinator Susan Roughton, the program grew rapidly, with highly talented students enrolling and a greater number of high-quality course offerings for online students,” said Professor Quinn Brewster, Director of the M.Eng.ME Program. “Now, with our recent hiring of a new Online Programs Coordinator, Jessica Moyer, we’re transitioning into a period of even more rapid growth, and MechSE is looking forward to further increasing online course offerings to meet the needs of our students, both academically and professionally.”

The M.Eng.ME program in MechSE launched in Fall 2015 with just seven on-campus students, adding an online student one year later. Since then, with an intense focus on recruitment, program development, student engagement, and individualized student advising, program enrollment has exploded. As of Fall 2023, MechSE now serves 101 students, one-third of which are enrolled in the online program. The M.Eng.ME program boasts high retention and graduation rates as well as an impressive cumulative GPA.
