MechSE's Christine Littrell, Niket Patel, and Madison Whitt have been named to the Senior 100 Honorary.

The Senior 100 Honorary is a program of the University of Illinois Alumni Association that recognizes notable seniors across campus for both their past achievement and future commitment to the university. The program both honors what the students have accomplished and acknowledges the great impact they will have on the world at large after graduation. Only 100 seniors from the entire campus are chosen.

Littrell has been very involved with ASME, acting as Vice President External during the first semester of her junior year and President after the second semester. She is also a member of Pi Tau Sigma and Tau Beta Pi. She serves as the head Engineering Learning Assistant for the engineering orientation program Engineering 100. After attending the Engineering Ambassadors’ National Workshop at Pennsylvania State University in 2012, she developed the Engineering Ambassadors outreach program at MechSE.

Patel will receive his BS in Mechanical Engineering in May 2013 with minors in bioengineering and mathematics. He is on the Dean's Student Advisory Committee for engineering, acted as the Internal Marketing Director for the 2013 Engineering Open House, and has previously been the Vice President of both Internal and External Affairs of ASME. He is part of the Wagoner Johnson Research Group within the department, and has worked for General Electric Healthcare of the summer of 2012. After graduation he will work with the consulting firm Accenture.

Whitt has been a member of ASME since her freshman year. In 2011 she served as Outreach Coordinator, where she worked with the Orpheum Children's Science Museum to promote mechanical engineering in the community. She is Vice president of External Affairs and schedules engineering-related company events on campus. She has been Service Chair for two years in Pi Tau Sigma. After graduation, she will be a Mechanical Contact Engineer at Exxon Mobil, where she interned in summer of 2012.
