Polycarpou Named Fulbright Scholar

Associate Professor Andreas PolycarpouAssociate Professor and Kritzer Faculty Scholar Andreas Polycarpou has been selected as a Fulbright scholar grantee to Cyprus by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Polycarpou received the sole research award offered for 2008-2009. During his time at the University of Cyprus, he will study deposition and nanomechanical property measurements of magnetic-mode oxide films for thermal management in magnetic storage hard disk drives.

Associate Professor and Kritzer Faculty Scholar Andreas Polycarpou has been selected as a Fulbright scholar grantee to Cyprus by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Polycarpou received the sole research award offered for 2008-2009. During his time at the University of Cyprus, he will study deposition and nanomechanical property measurements of magnetic-mode oxide films for thermal management in magnetic storage hard disk drives. His host at the University of Cyprus will be Professor Ioannis Giapintzakis of the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, who received his PhD in materials science and engineering from the University of Illinois in 1992.
