Donna Nichols, Academic Advisor for Undergraduate Students, has received an Outstanding Staff Member Award from the Dads Association of the University of Illinois. Nichols has been advising undergraduate students in the department since 1993. Before joining M&IE, she was an executive recruiter for engineers and physicians.

Nichols was nominated by Professor Ty Newell, who noted her dedication to the well being of undergraduate students and her invaluable service as a resource for the faculty. "She continually maintains a positive attitude in a job that is often emotionally draining and difficult," he said. In a recent survey of faculty, Nichols was described as"an important asset to the department," "always available, always knowledgeable, and always happy to help." Undergraduate students also give her high marks. One student, who called Nichols "a fantastic person," said, "I want you to know that I will never forget all that you have done for me. You have made a very positive impact on my life."
