Recently promoted to Associate Professor, Nenad Miljkovic also received the prestigious title of Kritzer Faculty Scholar. He was honored by the MechSE Department at a celebration on September 24.

“Named appointments are the highest distinction a university or department can bestow on its faculty, and we’re thrilled that Nenad was selected as a Kritzer Faculty Scholar,” said Tony Jacobi, Department Head and Richard W. Kritzer Distinguished Professor.

Miljkovic is also an Associate Director of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Center (ACRC) at Illinois, and he leads the Energy Transport Research Laboratory in MechSE, a robust and interdisciplinary group of four postdoctoral scholars, 10 visiting scholars, 24 full-time graduate students, and 15 undergraduate researchers.

The accolades Miljkovic has earned in his relatively short career thus far are numerous and prestigious, and his work in the area of condensation heat transfer is highly innovative and impactful. He has made significant contributions and has the potential to be a foremost leader in the field.

“It was only six years ago when I first met Nenad at the 75th anniversary of the Heat Transfer Division of ASME and… when I saw him present his paper, was the first time I had seen him, and he was like he is today—just impressive, enthusiastic, and creative. I’m extremely glad that Nenad holds this Kritzer named appointment. Richard Kritzer was very important for the development of ACRC. He had given the first donation to center, along with many other donations afterwards. So, as one of the associate directors of ACRC who will help it continue to grow, it is just fitting that Nenad holds this particular appointment,” said Pega Hrnjak, Stoecker Faculty Fellow, Distinguished Research Professor, and Director of the ACRC.
