Venanzio Cichella, a MechSE Ph.D. candidate on Professor Naira Hovakimyan's research team, presented some of the group's research September 24 at EURAXESS Science Slam in Washington, D.C. His presentation earned second place.
"It was great to join this lightening competition, and meet so many bright people," Cichella said. "The best part of this experience was to find out that even people from different areas, such as philosophy, history, psychology, can still appreciate and get close to our work and ideas. This also helped me to see my work from an interesting prespective."
The slideshow and impressive video presentation, titled Cooperative Flying Robots, can be viewed here.
The presentation represents the work of Cichella, Hovakimyan, and Enric Xargay, a postdoctoral researcher working on Hovakimyan's team, as well as Isaac Kaminer and Vladimir Dobrokhodov from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
