New SES Fellow Harley Johnson
MechSE Professor Harley Johnson was selected as a 2020 Fellow of the Society of Engineering Science (SES). Fellows are individuals who are distinguished in some field in which the Society has interest, who has been a Regular or Life Member of the Society for at least five years, and whose contributions to the Society and the technical community have justified this honor.

Johnson was selected for his research contributions across a broad range of topics in mechanics of electronic materials as well as his decades-long service to the society. He has been a member of SES since 1997 and has served on its Board of Directors since 2015. He was the General Chair of the 2008 Technical Meeting and Chair of the Nominating Committee in 2014. 

Johnson is also a Kritzer Faculty Scholar and this semester, was named Associate Dean for Research at the Grainger College of Engineering.

He will be recognized at the SES 2020 annual meeting in September 2020.
