Hoelzle article makes scholarly journal cover

David J. HoelzleDavid J. Hoelzle, who earned his PhD from MechSE in 2011, has garnered the front cover story in the Journal of Biomechanical Engineering. The article, Design and Manufacture of Combinatorial Calcium Phosphate Bone Scaffolds, was coauthored by Shelby R. Svientek from the Department of Bioengineering and by Hoelze’s PhD advisers from MechSE, professors Andrew G. Alleyne and Amy J. Wagoner Johnson.

David J. Hoelzle, who earned his PhD from MechSE in 2011, has garnered the front cover story in the Journal of Biomechanical Engineering.

 

The article, Design and Manufacture of Combinatorial Calcium Phosphate Bone Scaffolds, was coauthored by Shelby R. Svientek from the Department of Bioengineering and by Hoelze’s PhD advisers from MechSE, professors Andrew G. Alleyne and Amy J. Wagoner Johnson.

Hoelzle is currently performing a post-doc at UCLA in the Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology, where he is investigating high-throughput methods to measure cell stiffness. He will be at UCLA until December 2012 and then will start as an assistant professor in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame.
