Alleyne honored with Air Force public service award

Professor Andrew Alleyne was honored this year with the Chief of Staff of the Air Force Exceptional Public Service Award. It is the most prestigious award granted by the U.S. Air Force to non-employee civilians.

The award recognizes the sustained and unselfish dedication, contributions, and exceptional support to the Air Force.

Alleyne was recognized for his service from 2016 to 2020, which included his roles as:

  • Chief of the 2020 Science and Technology Reviews for Air Force Research Laboratory technical directorates;
  • Vice Chair of the 2019 Science and Technology Reviews for Air Force Research Laboratory technical directorates; and
  • Member of the 2017 Technology Viability to Support Penetrating Counterair Capability, the 2018 Maintaining Technology Superiority for the United States Air Force, and the One Science and Technology reviews of Air Force Research Laboratory technical directorates.

Alleyne is a Fellow of IEEE and ASME and has won numerous awards for his research and teaching.
