MechSE Alum Rob Fransen (BSME 2002, MSME 2004), from Orland Park, IL, is also an inventor on 40 U.S. patents and an active patent manager.

MechSE alumnus Rob Fransen (BSME 2002, MSME 2004) has been promoted as the Director of Engineering Operations for Panduit Corporation. In this role he will be responsible for driving improvements in global engineering effectiveness and efficiency.
Fransen joined Panduit in 2005 as a mechanical engineer on the company’s Product Development team, and over the last 10 years, has managed several engineering teams of varying technical disciplines as well as served as a portfolio manager.
Fransen is also an inventor on more than 40 U.S. patents and is an active patent manager. He said he credits the wonderful faculty in the MechSE Department as well as the opportunities he had to work in the lab as both an undergraduate and grad student. Fransen lives in Orland Park, IL with his wife and two children.
