Missy Biehl and Holly Pankow have been awarded the MechSE Staff Award for Exemplary Service for 2023. The honor is given annually to staff members for their contributions to the department and their outstanding service to faculty, students, and colleagues. Nominations are solicited and submitted by MechSE faculty, staff and students.

Biehl, an Academic Advisor in MechSE, began her advising career in 2012 in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, then joined MechSE in February 2013. She successfully communicates the details of the MechSE curriculum and its requirements and opportunities to a wide range of audiences, including parents, prospective students, current undergrads, and faculty. In addition to formal advising, she supports MechSE’s student societies throughout the year as well as for Engineering Open House.

Biehl and Pankow were honored at a department staff appreciation event earlier this semester.
