Brown wins campus award for outstanding service

Haruka BrownMechSE’s Haruka Brown has been selected by the campus’ Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance group to receive the 2022 SPaRC Outstanding Service Award

Brown is the Research Administration Manager, working with MechSE faculty to develop and submit successful funding proposals, received the award for her “impressive commitment to providing outstanding service to her unit and the University community.”

SPaRC is is a comprehensive working group devoted to the management and administration of sponsored programs. They provide central and departmental administrative staff with a platform to exchange and disseminate information related to the support of the sponsored portfolio.

Brown has worked in MechSE for more than nine years and has been described by her colleagues as “always compassionate, kind, reasonable, helpful, and upbeat. She leads by example by providing excellent customer service and strives for her staff to provide the same level of assistance, accuracy, and dependability.”

She will receive her award during the SPaRC Retreat on September 16.
