Kessler named Fellow of ASEE

Michael KesslerTheoretical and Applied Mechanics alum and MechSE Alumni Board member Michael Kessler (MS TAM ’98, PhD TAM ’02) was recently named a Fellow of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).

The honor recognizes outstanding contributions to engineering education or engineering technology education and considerable individual contributions to ASEE.

Kessler is a Professor and Dean of the College of Engineering at North Dakota State University, a position he has held since 2017. He joined MechSE’s Alumni Board in 2018.

An expert in the mechanics, processing, and characterization of polymer matrix composites and nanocomposites, Kessler’s research interests include the development of multifunctional materials, polymer matrix composites for extreme environments, bio-renewable polymers and composites, and the evaluation of these materials using experimental mechanics and thermal analysis.
