MechSE alumnus Greg Remec (BSME ’84) has been appointed acting head of North America infrastructure for Fitch Ratings. Remec was previously a senior analyst in Fitch’s project finance group where he focused on power and energy transactions in both North and Latin America. Prior to joining Fitch, Remec was vice president of analytics at Marathon Capital, LLC, where he was responsible for structuring renewable energy and power transactions.

 Remec earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1984, and an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business in 1989.

Fitch Ratings Inc. is an American credit rating agency and is one of the "Big Three credit rating agencies," the other two being Moody's and Standard & Poor's. It is one of the three nationally recognized statistical rating organizations designated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in 1975.
