Phillip Thiessen, who received the MechSE Distinguished Alumni Award in 2018, passed away on January 9.
He spent his entire career at the Raytheon Company and had recently retired.
When speaking at the MechSE awards banquet in 2018, Thiessen said, “I owe everything to the education that I received here at Illinois.”
