NSF funds center to advance research in complex biological systems

Mechanical Science and Engineering professors K. Jimmy Hsia and Taher Saif will play active leadership roles in an NSF-funded center recently created to advance research in complex biological systems. The $25 million EBICS Center (Emergent Behaviors of Integrated Cellular Systems) will be a collaborative effort of the University of Illinois, MIT, and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
