The Imaging Technology Group, The Beckman Institute, UIUC
       Provides imaging facilities in through its Microscopy Suite and the Visualization, Media, and Imaging
       Laboratory and has several novel K-12 outreach programs including chickscope and bugscope

Materials Research Laboratory (MRL), UIUC
   Center for microanalysis of Materials (CMM)
        Department of Energy user facility. 
        The CMM specializes in materials characterization techniques and is one of four DOE Electron-Beam Microcharacterization Centers open to the world-wide research community.  Several of the microscopes can be operated via the internet.
