Design of acoustic negative refractive index lens
High-resolution acoustic imaging techniques are the essential tools for
nondestructive testing and sonography .For these imaging application, we need
acoustic lens with sharp focus, tunable focal length and potable small size. In
this project, we design an acoustic metamaterial lens composed of a planar
network of subwavelength Helmholtz resonators. The considerably smaller size of
the Helmholtz resonator to the corresponding resonant wavelength, allows a
compact and light weight design for kilohertz frequency applications.
