Weinacht named Senior VP at S&L

Sargent & Lundy has appointed MechSE alumnus Daniel Weinacht as a senior vice president and senior project director for the firm’s government services business. Weinacht earned a Master of Science in 1986 and Ph.D. in 1992, both in mechanical engineering at Illinois, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in eight states.
 
In his current role at Sargent & Lundy, Weinacht provides project management and engineering support to the firm’s clients, primarily supporting the Department of Energy. Prior to joining Sargent & Lundy, he served as deputy of the energy services division at ARES Corporation and was responsible for the project planning and development of technical, cost and schedule baselines.
 
He has been a member of the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology Mechanical Engineering advisory board for over 10 years and currently serves as its president. He is also an active participant in Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology (ABET) activities and currently serves on the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission.
 
Weinacht is also a certified Project Management Professional.Weinacht is based in Richland, Washington.
