Vanka named visiting professor at IIT

Surya Pratap Vanka was awarded a Visiting Professor position at Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-Hyderabad), under a new program from the Indian Ministry of Education.

The institution’s Visiting Advanced Joint Research (VAJRA) Faculty Scheme is a program exclusively for overseas scientists and academicians to bring a strong international connection to the R&D ecosystem of India.

The scheme offers adjunct/visiting faculty positions to undertake high-quality collaborative research in public-funded academic and research institutions of India. VAJRA faculty will engage in collaborative research in science and technology with one or more Indian Collaborators. They may also be involved in technology development and start-ups.

Vanka, a Research Professor and Professor Emeritus in MechSE, will collaborate on the topic of “Multiphase flow computations on GPUs.” His first visit will be during the month of September, 2018.
