Prof. Alleyne Receives Teaching Award

Professor Andrew AlleyneCollege of Engineering Ralph M. and Catherine V. Fisher Professor Andrew Alleyne has been selected to receive the 2008 Campus Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching - Faculty. Upon joining the department in 1994, he initiated a long-term strategic effort to revitalize undergraduate education in dynamic systems and industrial controls, which has impacted more than 2000 undergraduate students over the years.

College of Engineering Ralph M. and Catherine V. Fisher Professor Andrew Alleyne has been selected to receive the 2008 Campus Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching - Faculty. Upon joining the department in 1994, he initiated a long-term strategic effort to revitalize undergraduate education in dynamic systems and industrial controls, which has impacted more than 2000 undergraduate students over the years. He restructured the curriculum and worked with the Parker Hannifin Corporation and the National Science Foundation to develop a state-of-the-art instructional laboratory, the Parker Motion and Control Laboratory for Undergraduate Education. A respected and influential classroom instructor himself, he has also played a key role in increasing and strengthening the faculty in the dynamics and controls area.
