NOBE students introduce 4th grade Dr. Howard Elementary students to various types of engineering

Two undergrads from the National Organization for Business and Engineering (NOBE) introduced several different fields of engineering to 4th grade students attending Dr. Howard Elementary school.

For several weeks on Wednesday afternoons, the grade school students were briefly introduced to a branch of engineering, then engaged in an exciting hands-on activity to explore that field. Students did such things as made pipe cleaner towers, grippers to pick up various objects, launchers to fling cotton balls the farthest.

Teacher Ellen Elrick reported that her students looked forward to the NOBE students coming each Wednesday, and were talking about engineering for days after each activity.
