Design Sequence Electives
The design sequence electives consist of 6 hours of engineering coursework—3 hours in an engineering design elective course that is directly related to the intended area of concentration in that design course, plus 3 hours in an engineering capstone design course, such as one of the classes listed below. In most cases, the capstone design course is taken in the last semester of study. A faculty design sequence coordinator, named by the department head, must approve each student’s design sequence electives.
Engineering capstone courses include:
- AE 440 - Aerospace systems design I
- ABE 469 - Off-road industry design project
- CHBE 431 - Process design
- CS 492 - Senior project in CS, I
- ECE 445 - Senior design project laboratory
- ENG 491 - Interdisciplinary design project
- GE 494 and 495 - Project design I and II
- MSE 428 - Process design
- ME 470 - Senior design project
- NPRE 458 - Design in nuclear, plasma, and radiological engineering
