Lund University in Sweeden
Considered one of the best universities in Sweden, Lund University is an international center for research and education located in Southern Sweden, close to Denmark and northern Germany. Founded in 1666, the university is at the heart of the medieval city of Lund, a city of 100,000 people where approximately 38,000 are students. The university offers 300 single subject courses, 50 master's programs and Ph.D. studies in English, and has a large number of visiting professors and international students.
Mike Lancelot chose to study in Sweden, because most Swedes speak fluent English and he is very poor at foreign languages. "Also, I talked with students who had been to Lund, and they spoke very highly of their experiences. Sweden isn't as common a destination for most U of I students, I wanted to have an original experience, and Lund has an excellent engineering school," he says.
- Length of stay: year

- What liked the most: meeting people from all over the world and being immersed in a culture that is similar, yet in some respects is completely different; traveling around Europe
- What liked the least: not being able to spend holidays with family
