It's been an eventful week in the MechSE Grad Office!

Congratulations to Nishana Ismail and Tim Deppen who have been awarded the Cozad prize!  Congratulations to Johnny Felts who has received a National Research Council postdoctoral fellowship!  Also, in case you missed it, earlier this semester it was announced that Eduardo Torrealba has received the Lemelson-Illinois student prize, and four of our current graduate students were awarded NSF-GRFP Fellowships - Jeremy Horwitz, Anna Oldani, Harpreet Sangha, and Matthew Williams.  Congratulations to all of our outstanding students!

Regarding admissions, Monday it was confirmed that the entering Fall 2013 class is looking to be one of our largest and most notable groups of new enrollees to date!  Also, on Wednesday I had the pleasure of attending a workshop for Alpha Omega Epsilon members at the University of Illinois.  Alpha Omega Epsilon is a social and professional engineering sorority at the University of Illinois.  It was fun to meet their members and speak about the graduate school application process.  I hope to be interacting more with their chapter in the future!

Finally, this week wraps up with the department's annual Spring Alumni Board Meeting and Awards Banquet.  It's such a pleasure to interact with our alumni as well as feature our students who have received awards this year.
