This is such an exciting time of year for our prospective students as they are making preparations for graduate study.  A few questions resurface this time of year, and they may be on your mind as well.

Q:  How can I check on my application?
A:  You can check on the status of your application in the My.MechSE system, https://my.mechse.illinois.edu/gradstat.
Log in with your email address and your birth date (format: xx/xx/xxxx) as submitted in the Apply Yourself system.  You can email me at mechse-grad[figure="" class="align-center" width="10"]illinois [dot] edu if you have any questions regarding the My.MechSE application system.

Q:  When will I hear the result?

A:  As soon as a decision is made, you will be emailed.  Admission decisions are not given in person or over the phone.  We expect to have all decisions out in March.  We know that you are anxiously waiting for the result, and we will send you notification as soon as the decision is made.

Q:  Should I start contacting faculty to inquire about research assistantships?

A:  Applicants should wait to contact faculty until after an offer of admission has been received.

We appreciate your patience as applications are being reviewed.  Thank you!
