We're excited that you've chosen Illinois for graduate study, and we know this is a busy time for you as you prepare for the transition.  We're here to help!

Where should you start?  I recommend you start with this Graduate Student Orientation Video.  Then follow up with the Graduate College's Quick Guide where you'll find detailed instructions for setting up your NetID, email, EnterpriseID and more.

Psst...Once you've set up your illinois.edu email address, I recommend that you sign up for GradLinks - a weekly e-bulletin for the graduate community at Illinois.

How do you know when you should plan to arrive at Illinois?  If you will be on a research assistantships (RA) or a teaching assistantship (TA), it is recommended that you discuss your arrival date with your advisor/course instructor.  When you arrive at the department, make sure you complete your employment paperwork with the MechSE Business Office in 142 MEB.  If you will be on a fellowship appointment, make sure that you check in with me, Katrina Hagler, in 164 MEB, for your fellowship paperwork.

Here's a list of important dates to keep in mind for Spring 2014.  You can find the campus calendar for 2013-2014 at this website.
